Photograph caption dated June 22, 1956 reads, "New device saves lives - Dr. Antoinette Schamois demonstrates use of new Dallons Electrocardioscope which measures heartbeat instantaneously. Device was purchased for St. Joseph Hospital in Burbank, first private hospital in Valley to acquire one. Electrodes on man's legs connect with machine."
