Description
In the this 1968 postcard, fair goers take in the California Exposition's Floriculture Pavilion. Unlike the previous Hall of Flowers, the structure was a tent, known to many, and not always lovingly, as "the big blue tent." Without any artificial climate control system, the venue, on occassion, became a hothouse during Sacramento's late Summer months, keeping visitors out while cooking prized plants.
