Description
Photograph of trolley car moving on an empty road, showing residential houses in the background, ca.1899. At center, a large darkly-colored trolley holding several passengers is visible. Three women can be seen sitting along the edges of the trolley near its doors. A single conductor wearing a hat and jacket is seen standing at the front of the car near a small panel. The number "110" is also seen painted into the front panel. Along the side of the trolley, four windows can be seen between the two sets of doorways. Above the windows, a small sign can be seen with the words: "Santa Fe Station & Vermont Ave". Two doors are visible above wide stairwells on either side of the trolley car. In the background to the right, large trees and vegetation can be seen obscuring a house. To the left, a tall utility pole stands next to several trees.
