Kindergarten, Frobel Institute, southeast corner of Adams and Hoover; shows Mission Revival style building, prominent chimney (center); horse and cart stand in porte cochere; (Fredrich Frobel, founder of the kindergarten movement in Germany; also spelled Froebel). Los Angeles; ca. 1897. (later, Sunshine Mission)
Constructed in 1893 by architect Sumner Hunt as the Los Angeles campus of the international Froebel Institute, known as Casa de Rosas.
