Description
Annotation translation: "Twenty years ago the German traveller Zintgraff, 4 Europeans and many Bali warriors set out to inflict military punishment on Bandeng. But Guafo won the battle through a trick and killed the four Europeans and many Bali. Zintgraff just managed to escape. Now Guafo is a friend of Germany." - "Vollbehr art postcards, Cameroon." - "[He] was one of the first to take on English rule again [sic]." - "Sole supplier: Basel Mission Trading Company, Duala, Cameroon."
Annotation: "Als vor 20 Jahren der deutsche Reisende Zintgraff mit 4 Europäern und vielen Balikriegern gegen Bandeng eine Strafexpedition unternahm, siegte Guafo durch List und tötete die 4 Europäer und viele Bali. Zintgraff entkam mit knapper Not. - Jetzt ist Guafo deutschfreundlich gesinnt." - "Vollbehr-Künstlerpostkarten 'Kamerun'". - "War einer der ersten, der sich den Engländern wieder anschloss." - "Alleinvertrieb: Basler Missionshandlung, Duala (Kamerun)."
