Recollections of Joy Anderson's family life of early days in the Owens Valley, ranchers and ranches in the Lone Pine/southern Inyo area, including the Van Dyke Ranch, McCall Ranch, and Lucas Ranch, cattle drives and roundups in the Eastern Sierra, local Paiute Indian life and stories, teaching and education in the Owens Valley, film industry in the 1920s, and the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power.
