Description
Students stage a sit-in on May 6, 1975, outside Pendleton Business Building. The protests were in support of continued funding for the Black and Chicano Studies Center Pre-Freshman program, which targeted accepted Black and Chicano students and provided them with skills and support for entering college. The reluctance of many college administrators to provide continued and/or substantial funding to the program was seen by many as a threat to the existence of the Black and Chicano Studies Center as well as the Pre-Freshman program.
