Description
Sacramento resident Mike Simmons participated in the Vietnam War as a member of the United States Military. Simmons grew up in Sacramento with fond memories of cruising his way to Mel's on 19th and J, and fishing the American River. Abruptly, however, he's drafted and becomes a hydraulics specialist for the 4th Infantry Division's fleet of helicopters. As a mechanic and accidental door gunner, Simmons cycles out of Vietnam in 1967, eventually becoming a longtime Sacramento chiropractor.
