Description
Jerry Giesler, honorary chairman, and Harry Gamson, chairman of the "Fight for Lives" arrangements committee, discussing with the Boxing Commission the annual bout. The fight, a rematch between Fabela Chavez and Alfredo Escobar, was to benefit the Los Angeles Sanatorium, a national non-sectarian tuberculosis center at Duarte. With them, standing, are Julian Black, former manager of Joe Louis; William Haughton, chairman of the California Boxing Commission; and Norman Houston, member of the California Boxing Commission.
