Description
Fortunio Bonanova was born Josep Lluis Moll on January 13, 1895. He was a Spanish baritone opera singer and a film, theater, and television actor. Bonanova also occasionally worked as a producer and director. He appeared in several popular films, including 'Citizen Cane' 'Double Indemnity' and 'For Whom the Bell Tolls.' He died on April 2, 1969.
Photograph caption dated November 23, 1957 reads, "Valley Opera Association rehearses for opening performance to be given Nov. 30, 8 p.m. in the auditorium of the new Sequoia Junior High School at Erwin street and Reseda boulevard, Reseda. Fortunio Bonanova, standing left, director of the company, sings excerpts from 'La Boheme' and 'Cavalleria Rusticana' with, left to right, Noreen O'Day, Flynn O'Neal, Marilyn O'Connor, Mike Andoor, Jeannette Farra and Chris Lachona. David Huebler is at the piano. Admission to opera is free."
