Photograph caption dated October 30, 1986 reads, "Two Los Angeles city councilmen, Mike Woo, left, and Richard Alatorre, hold a mock ceremony to change the name of Los Angeles to The Angels in protest of the English-only initiative on Tuesday's ballot. They said they were holding the ceremony to illustrate how, if voted in, Proposition 63 could be used to force governments and businesses to do everything from changing their names to dropping bilingual programs."
