Bill Overton discusses his book, “The Media.” He begins by explaining how people create an image in their heads because of what they read in newspapers or see in television. He says that he covered multiple races, religions, and nationalities in his book to give a broad description of how media can affect a group of people. He discusses how the book came from an exhibition that he curated about the media. He talks about the way artists would depict presidential candidates, and how they use many of the same tricks today. He ends the interview by describing how the book took him over 25 years to create and how he traveled all over the country collecting images and quotes for this project.
