Notes written on original photograph: I sent this picture not because it is particularly good, but because it is funny. We were posed for the picture and I was to start the gramophone. Ida said she was never going to laugh in the picture so I concluded she should and fooled with the gramophone until they were all laughing and Mr. Matthews snapped it just then. It is at least very natural & would have been good if Minnie had not moved. [note by Cassie Johnstone].
