"Joh.Smiths og Egenaes" ("Johan Smith family and Egenaes"). On the picture are Alvilde and Sofie Smith, the daughters of Nikoline and Johan Smith. Johan Smith was a missionary in Madagascar from 1887-1919. He first married Kunda 1863-1892, maiden name Helliesen Bertelsen. She died in Ihosy on December 11, 1892. He then married Nikoline (Lina) Johanne, maiden name Eckhoff, in Ambohimasina on December 11, 1894. She was a missionary in Madagascar from 1886-1919. David Egenaes was a missionary in Madagascar from 1869-1901. He founded Ambohimasina Mission Station in 1870 and was manager there for many years before he left Madagascar in 1901. He married Anna Wilhelmine 1840-1911, maiden name Nitter, in Tananarive on September 8, 1874.
