Southern California delegates to the Democratic national convention on July 18, 1952, wave Kefauver placards before boarding a train at Union Station, bound for Chicago, where the conclave will be held. In the center, hoisting one of the signs, is Supervisor John Anson Ford, the new national committeeman and state chairman for Kefauver. About 80 delegates took the train from here on this date, and others will leave by train the next day.
