Description
Photograph of an exterior view of the Philharmonic Auditorium, located at Fifth Street and Olive Street, showing Pershing Square in the foreground, 1905. The Philharmonic Auditorium, a tall, stone or concrete building constructed in an Edwardian-like style of architecture, is shown at center. Its façade is ornately decorated, and each section's uppermost windows are topped by pointed arches. Several small, pointed towers protrude from the each section of the roof. Striped awnings hang over the sidewalks at the building's street level. An electric streetcar sits at center, in front of the auditorium. The trees and lawns of Pershing Square fill the foreground.
