Description
Title supplied by cataloger.
The wreckage of a single-engine Citabria plane is towed from the water near the Seal Beach Pier. The pilot, Charles Mahan, 56, of Los Angeles, was treated for minor injuries after he was able to free himself from the wreckage. Mahan's passenger, John Therieau, 50, of Westlake Village, was not able to escape the plane and his remains were found in the cockpit about five hours after the crash. The two men had departed from Compton Airport to head offshore to watch sailboats. Photograph dated October 30,1985.
