Description: Photo of National Champion Sammy Lee in the middle of a dive into a pool. He is part of the First Annual Los Angeles Swimming and Diving Championships at the Olympic Swim Stadium September 12-13, 1942. He was born in Fresno of Korean descent, and his parents' surname was Rhee. But since it was always pronounced Lee, the child was given that surname.
