Three-quarters length portrait in costume. Signed "Maas" in left corner.
2012-1303.
Joseph Maas was born in Dartford, Kent in 1847. Began his career as chorister at Rochester Cathedral, first stage appearance was in 1872 at Covent Garden. Toured the United States as part of the Clara Kellogg's English Opera Company. He died in 1886 in London.
