Description
Two Mayan women; one carrying a baby girl on her back, collect and carry water from the river to the refugee camp of Cuauhtémoc, Chiapas. On April 30, 1984, in one of the most violent assault of its kind, Guatemalans attacked El Chupaderoone, a nearby refugee camp. The attacks left seven refugees dead. In the days following, refugees from the camp of Cuauhtémoc fled their settlement to avoid the same fate.
