Photograph caption dated May 3, 1957 reads, "Nearly 250 boys, nine to 12 years of age, representing teams from all over the area open the 1957 season tonight at McCambridge, Valley and Pacific parks in Burbank and Clark Field in La Crescenta. All games are doubleheaders, starting at 6:30 o'clock. In action at left, Dave McCloud, Browns, slides into a tag by Mike Herron, Cardinals. Second from left, Mike Hilgen, Pirates, bunts as Richard Erickson catches for the Braves. The third picture from the left shows Al Amirault, Giant second baseman, and Marty Powell, first base, running down Jerry Milroie, Cubs. At far right, Fred Haggen slugs one for the Orioles, Tom Slate catching for the Tigers. Earle W. Burke is board of directors chairman, other members being Reuben Norris, Marvin Dahl, Ralph Sutherland, By Durley, Marvin Jones and Kenny Wattenberger."
