Description
Photographic portrait of General U.S. Grant, W.T. Sherman and T. Sheridan, [s.d.]. Three men stand posed in their uniforms which feature decorative epaulets and cloth sashes pulled across the two rows of buttons on their double-breasted longcoats. To the left, Sheridan, who has short-cropped hair and a moustache, sits with his right hand on his hip, looking up toward Grant standing at center, whose hair is short and who sports a close-cropped beard. He holds a document of some kind in his right hand. Finally, Sherman sits to the right with his left hand in his lap, the other arm resting on the desk behind him. He also has a short beard and hair, and holds a pen in his left hand. Romanesque interior can be seen behind them, as well as a view of a city behind them. A signature at the bottom of the photograph reads "Anderson / New York".
