Description
Photograph of the main foyer and balcony stairs of the Mayan Theater, ca.1925. Two photographs are shown in this composite image: the top image shows a wide corridor with wooden floors. Ornate chairs are lined along the right wall, which is decorated with faux-Mayan relief carvings that serve as paneling. At bottom, the stairs to the balcony are shown, with two Mayan-style gila monster heads flanking the stairs, one at either side. The steps themselves are draped with thick cloth. The walls are paneled with relief-carved tiles.
