Description
Photograph of a building-lined street in Randsburg, 1898. The wide dirt road runs away from the camera into the distance at right and is lined with a series of wooden buildings on both sides. Most of the buildings have slanted roofs, and many have rectangular facades that hide the roof peaks from view. Uncovered wooden porches are in front of all of the buildings at left, and a large number of men in dark clothes is sitting on them. Two men are standing in the middle of the street at center and are looking at the camera. In the distance at right, a large crowd is gathered near a pair of large wagons. A sign advertises the "Capitol Saloon" at center.
