Description
Tower's artistic career began in ernest in 1970 when, encouraged by his wife, he entered and won a painting competition at the local library. Today he is best recognized for his detailed pen-and-ink drawings and finely detailed watercolors. Tower illustrated a book "Seventy Years in the Silicon Valley, an Anecdotal History" that was published in 2002. The Golden Gate Park Conservatory was originally supposed to be in San Jose. However, the owner of the Mercury News , J.J. Owens, insulted Conservatory owner James Lick saying his clothes were shabby. Lick decided to take the Conservatory to San Franciso. LM
