Description
Three negatives in envelope labeled, "Capt. Shoemaker, Sunnyvale, May 18-34." Includes one image of an airship, the U.S.S. Macon. See attached Mercury News article, "Macon Home at Base with New Flight Record," dated May 19, 1934 (from History San Jose's collection). The airship U.S.S. Macon arrived at Moffett Field after traveling cross-continent from Florida in 51 hours. She had been serving the U.S. Navy in maneuvers in the Caribbean sea.
