PhotographÂ was edited for publication purposes Photograph caption dated April 20, 1956 reads, "Second grade youngsters at Park View Elementary School, Lancaster, squirm for chance to answer teacher. Like most elementary schools in Valley, Park View is on half-day sessions. Elementary schools have grown from 1,198 pupils in 1945 to 8,354 this year, high school enrollments from 754 to 2,161 and junior colleges from 26 to 394.
