Description
Photograph of an exterior view of "Lucky" Baldwin's Queen Anne cottage at Rancho Santa Anita, ca.1938. At center, two trees stand between what appears to be a well in the foreground and the two-story Queen Anne-style cottage in the background. At right, a taller, more lightly-colored tree is pictured. This was later the site of the Los Angeles County Arboretum. Photoprint reads: "Queen Anne Cottage. Baldwin had it built in 1881 as a combination guest house and art gallery. Some of the largest eucalyptus trees in Southern California are in the park. Three of these, in front of the old adobe, were planted in 1865 by William Wolfskill".
