Description
This postcard, printed in 1918, reveals a bustling scene of barges, riverboats and wharves along the Sacramento River, between West Sacramento and Sacramento proper. Barges were a common site along the river in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, bringing grain down from warehouses as far north as Chico.
