Description
Photograph of a mountain lodge made from a rock, New Mexico, [s.d.]. The lodge is partially visible in the left, showing an amorphous rock which serves as the roof and the rest is made of rock bricks. The head and the fur of two deer can be seen on the exterior wall of the lodge. In the center, a rock appears to serve as a decorative statue while the heads of several deer are visible on the ground. To the right, a fuel pump is observable, showing various signs that read: "Texaco", "Cuff Dwellers Lodge Tourists Trips Saddle Horses and Burrows Attractions", and "Texaco Motor Oil". Further to the back, a small wooden cabin is noticeable and additional rocks are visible on the ground. All objects stand on a dry, sandy ground with small patches of snow. Snow-capped cliffs serve as the background. Photoprint reads: "Ballenced (Balanced?) Rock at Kabab or Hotel made out of a Ballenced Rock. Has fireplace, 3 nice couches, chairs to seat 32 people. They serve venison dinners 75¢ very fine".
