Description
Group portrait of the University of Southern California (USC) Trojans track and field team standing in front of a train car with the championship trophy of the Intercollegiate Association of Amateur Athletes of America (IC4A), following their win at the May 1931 meet. Dean Cromwell, the USC track and field coach stands behind the trophy wearing a bow tie, and sprinter Frank Wykoff holds a plaque while shaking hands. A note that accompanies the image identifies the men as: "l to r, Alexander - Manager, Peter Chlentzos - Pole Vault, Bill Graber - Pole Vault, Bill Carls - Low Hurdles, x, x, Duncan McNaughton - high [jump], Frank Wykof - 100, 220, Vic Williams - 440, Dean Cromwell - coach, Ernie Payne - low hurdle, Berry - high hurdle."
