Description
Exterior view of the California Mediterranean villa of Mrs. E. Palmer Gavit in Montecito. Designed by Reginald Johnson, architect, who also designed alterations in 1919. George Washington Smith also designed alterations. Owned by three different owners over time, it has been called "Cuesta Linda," "Tanglewood," and "Lotusland," the latter given it by Madame Waleska. As Lotusland it became a magnificent garden and was later opened to public view.
