View of Benicia Brewery from the rear of the building; shows pigs in pen next to the building, several men, one holding plow attached to a horse; church and Young Ladies Seminary building at left; several houses in background at right.
Hand-written note on back of painting identifies man in blue jeans (right) as John Rueger, grandfather of Theodore Rueger. Also noted is that an itinerant French artist did the work. The work is very similar to another work in CSL collection which has the initials "R.R." written on the front with the date 1856.
