This photograph is contained in one of two volumes by Dobbin titled "Album of San Francisco."

"Berkeley Hills in distance. Place marked "El Dorado" was a famous gambling house located on the S.E. corner of Washington and Kearny Street. Later Jenny Lind Theatre and City Hall containing Police & District Courts, the title of the latter were on adoption of New Constitution changed in title to Superior Court. Where the covered and other wagons are standing is Portsmouth Square" -- caption.
