Description
Note: Als Nr. 68 publiziert im Album 'Achtzig Ansichten von der Goldküste (Westafrika) nach Originalaufnahmen des Missionars Fritz Ramseyer', Neuenburg 1895.
(RI). - Gleicher Ort cf. D-30.14.014, QD-30.041.0022, QD-30.041.0108. (PST).
Note translation: Published as no 68 in the album 'Achtzig Ansichten von der Goldküste (Westafrika) nach Originalaufnahmen des Missionars Fritz Ramseyer', Neuchâtel 1895. (RI). - Caption in the album: "The cemetery in Abetifi. Even though Abetifi is healthier than other stations on the Gold Coast thanks to its altitude (2000 feet) fever is not uncommen. The dreaded 'Gallenfieber' has already claimed two lives. The photo shows the cemetery with three European graves under beautiful oil palms
the last resting place of the brothers E. Werner (one of the founders of the station) and Lodholz. The little cross in the front is the grave of a child of the Ramseyers', who died in 1880." - The French caption calls the illness "fièvre hématurique" and gives the initial of the dead Ramseyer child as "A". (PJ 07.1998). - For same place cf. D-30.14.014, QD-30.041.0022, QD-30.041.0108. (PST).
