Photograph caption dated September 16, 1961 reads, "The San Fernando Valley Branch of the American Red Cross has begun a fund-raising campaign to finance emergency care and rehabilitation for the victims of Hurricane Carla. Ray Minner (seated), Valley branch chairman, accepts donations of $100 each from Martin Pollard (center), president of Casa de Cadillac, and Fritz Wilson, chairman of Casa de Cadillac's Employe [sic] Welfare fund. Persons wishing to contribute to the fund should send checks to the American Red Cross, 14717 Sherman Way, Van Nuys, and mark them 'Carla Disaster.'"
