This is a letter from Peter Drucker to Harold Smiddy. Drucker compliments Smiddy on the paper he presented at the recent SAM conference. He also discusses a talk given by Mr. Johnson. Drucker gives his own interpretation of Mr. Johnson's speech and what it means for Operations Research & Synthesis. He says that if his interpretation is correct, then Mr. Johnson's statement "represents both a tremendous triumph and a tremendous opportunity". This letter has original handwritten notes and a signature.
