Photograph caption dated August 6, 1983 reads, "Members of the Boys Club of Hollywood march down Sunset Boulevard in search of graffiti to be painted over and trash to be picked up. About 80 youths showed up for yesterday's cleanup project. 'A lot of streets in Hollywood make for a pretty unhealthy environment, and that's why the boys decided to go on this cleanup campaign,' said Boys Club Assistant Director Patricia Gomez. The boys, age 7 to 17, armed with brooms and trash bags donated by City Councilman Peggy Stevenson and with paint and brushes donated by various Hollywood merchants, plan to make the cleanup a regular monthly event. Gomez said a different 3-block area would be beautified by the boys each month."
