Description
Title supplied by cataloger.
People line the streets, possibly in Chinatown, to watch the Chinese New Year parade. Numerous floats and marching bands participated on this date. Here, a convertible automobile with L.A. Council members, Janice Hahn, Wendy Greuel and Jan Perry wait their turn. Chinese New Year, also known as the Spring Festival, starts at the beginning of spring. It occurs somewhere between January 30 and February 20, and it is China's biggest holiday. It is celebrated with firecrackers, dragon dances and lion dances. Photograph dated January 24, 2004.
