Anybody’s Magazine (also referenced in the publication as Sacramento Home Monthly) was a short lived monthly publication, created in Sacramento, California. It charged readers $1.00 a year for a subscription, with single copies running for 10 cents. Its editor and manager was native-New Yorker C.E. (Charles) Esselstyne, who operated Anybody’s Publishing Company at 307 J Street. An advertisement from the 1907 Sacramento City Directory poses the questions: “The Question Mr. Businessman, is…Do You Want to Reach the GOOD People of Sacramento and the Surrounding Country? Don’t You Think it will Pay You to Help Build Sacramento and Home Institutions? Anybody’s Magazine is a Home Product of Merit Devoted to this Section of the Great State of California. Are You Supporting It?” Esselstyne – who signed the digitized copy – spent time in Sacramento, San Francisco, and Stockton as a news man and printer. He died in San Francisco in 1920.
