Photograph caption dated April 30, 1956 reads, "May be city's busiest intersection - Pouring from all directions, cars meet at intersection of Vineland avenue and Ventura boulevard, labeled as 'possibly Los Angeles' busiest intersection' by Traffic Manager Lloyd Braff. Last count indicates 86,000 cars pass through here over 24-hour period."
