Description
Image is of an ornate Chinese chapel with a table holding urns and candles in the foreground. In the background there is a statue of Buddha and several Chinese people worshipping. Below the image is a printed account of the celebrations in early April at the Sze Yap Asylum (headquarters for the sick and poor of an association of about 9,000 Chinese in California) on Pine near Kearny. The printed text also describes the hall and the chapel. "C.Nahl. Armstrong."--text in block lettering, bottom portion of the image. "Published by W.W. Kurtz & Co., Wide West Office, No. 162 Washington Street, San Francisco."--text, below image. Paper color: blue.
