Description
Portrait of Edward and Sandra Ross, husband and wife. Dr. Edward Ross, a long-tenured resident of Mill Valley, was a world-renowned entomologist and a pioneer in close-up photography. Taking over 250,000 photographs, he published two books and had photos in five National Geographic articles before he died in 2016 at the age of 100. Gaining his doctorate in 1941 from UC Berkeley, he would be associated with the California Academy of Sciences for around 75 years. Dr. Sandra Ross, a doctor of holistic health, helped preserve the northridge of Mt. Tamalpais, as well as Horse Hill. She headed the "Health and Habitat" non-profit environmental organization.
