Description
Photograph of Gutzon Borglum's "Head of Thomas Jefferson" being carved on Mount Rushmore in Black Hills, South Dakota, 1935. At center a large stone carving of a visible nose and left eye can be seen. A wooden walkway with a railing can be seen underneath the stone nose from left to right, while a man can be seen standing at right next to the eye on top of an outcropping of stone. The man can be seen wearing a cowboy hat, pants, and jacket, while what appear to be vertical lines are visible on the side of a mountain in the left background.
