A woman and a man search under aluminum sheets in Berlín. Behind them, more women, men, and children also search through the debris. In the background of the image, a large yellow truck transports a group of people. Guerrillas occupied the town for four days before the Salvadoran military attacked the town with rockets launched from airplanes. Bishop Arturo Rivera y Damas, bishop of San Salvador, denounced the assault a few days after and announced that the destruction left more than 300 people (mostly civilians, and few Salvadoran soldiers and rebels) dead during that week of February.
