Photograph caption dated September 2, 1989 reads, "A woman identified by firefighters as Jean Mitchell, 31, sits trapped in her car, with a firefighter holding her erect, as she waits to be cut from the wreckage following a two-car accident yesterday on a curve of Hayvenhurst Avenue (7200 block) in Van Nuys. Mitchell was later reported in critical condition with multiple fractures at Northridge Medical Center."
