Photograph caption dated June 26, 1961 reads, "Cars look pretty good? Here's how three cars belonging to a trio of Valley teenagers looked before the vehicles underwent mechanical surgery this week. Today they bear automotive scars. Bob Northcott, 17, 4635 Balboa Blvd., Encino ... can't grasp that shiny gear shift knob any more since he 'put a floor shift in. I'm putting in a quad and a full race cam, too,' he said. (A quad is a four-barrel carburetor and a full race cam is a high-efficiency cam shaft in a car's engine.)"; See images #00112697 through #00112699 for all photos in this series.
