Bust-length portrait.
Born in 1864 in County Limerick, Ireland. Emigrated to United States in 1885, settling in San Francisco. Worked as civil engineer on variety of projects over years - Valley and Mohawk Railroad, Southern Pacific Railroad, California Midwinter International Exposition of 1894, Spring Valley Water Company, Hetch Hetchy Reservoir and power project. Appointed chief engineer for the city of San Francisco in 1912. Died in 1934.
