Two missionaries are at right, dressed in dark robes with ropes around their waists. The one closest to the camera is holding a bowl of holy water, while the other is sprinkling it over the head of an Indian baby being held by an Indian man. Several other Indians holding bows have gathered around to watch the event. There are several trees around, and two straw huts at left.
