Photograph caption dated June 8, 1962 reads, "A two tone [sic] cake? There's no oven big enough. So Allerton H. Jeffries, left, and Samuel J. Sugerman divided up the ingredients - 112 gallons of milk, 120 dozen eggs, 1,000 pounds of flour, 1,300 pounds of sugar, 600 pounds of butter, 24 pounds of salt, five quarts of vanilla, and 50 pounds of baking powder - and give to children of 12 Community Chest agencies. It's a gift from the May Co. to mark the store's 39th anniversary celebration. Sugerman, the company's executive vice president, and Jeffries, Community Chest representative, are helped by two children who will sample the goodies."
